The Public Sector Hub, sponsored by Ayvens, was a dedicated space within Fleet & Mobility Live for public sector fleet decision-makers to learn and network, with exclusive content aimed directly at addressing their biggest challenges.

Like the wider show, access to the Public Sector Hub is free, with lunch and refreshments included, but attendees will gain valuable insights that are specifically aimed at helping public sector fleets better manage their vehicles, budgets and zero emissions strategy. A mix of panels, seminars and roundtables will be held on both days of the conference featuring subject matter experts and case studies from public sector peers from government departments, local authority, bluelight fleets, housing associations and charities.

Ayvens, the UK’s biggest sustainable mobility provider, will have its team on hand to share public sector specific fleet knowledge and support. Not only is there a curated public sector fleet agenda, the event has been created to keep busy diaries in mind too. Government framework-approved suppliers will be highlighted on the wider Fleet & Mobility Live exhibition show floor, and there will be quiet zone remote working pods in case you need to jump on an important call. Each presentation, panel and roundtable will feature handy one slide overviews to help with demonstrating key takeaways back at the office after the show.

    • Panel session
      • Public sector fleets have additional challenges to overcome on the road to net zero. This special panel discussion will look at the pressures facing mission-critical, complex and specialist commercial vehicles as public sector fleets look to roll out holistic strategies on EV infrastructure, future technology, maintenance and vehicle uptime.
  2. Sustainability and social value – how can suppliers help fleets achieve their SSV targets?
    • Seminar session
      • Sustainability and social value (SSV) have to be considered in all decision-making when it comes to the public sector. But how can suppliers help public sector fleets achieve their SSV targets? This session will look at supply chain management and provide tips on identifying SSV in the tender process. A holistic approach to mobility also provides an opportunity to address your fleet’s sustainability targets in a socially equitable way, which is not just limited to electrifying road transport.

    • Seminar session
      • With public sector wages under pressure, salary sacrifice offers an additional benefit to help retain teams. Experts and a public sector success story will help explain how to implement a salary sacrifice scheme within a public sector fleet at no net cost to the taxpayer and introduce a benefit that can help retain your best people, with solutions at different wage brackets.
  5. Managing budgetary constraints and running a compliant and efficient public sector fleet
    • Roundtable session
      • An efficient and cost-effective approach is essential for any fleet. Still, the degree of scrutiny facing the public sector in this area takes things to a different level compared with their private sector counterparts. This special roundtable discussion will share the challenges public sector fleets are facing with managing tight budgetary constraints and how to navigate them, all while achieving stakeholder buy-in to new projects and sustainability initiatives.
