EV fleet specialists ready to help with charging strategy at Fleet & Mobility Live
A crack team of electric fleet charging specialists will be on hand at this year’s Fleet & Mobility Live to help assist with all the challenges associated with what can be a challenging area of electrification.
Experts from Royal Mail, Openreach, UK Power Networks, Octopus Electroverse and Drax Electric Vehicles will be available as part of a special seminar session that runs on each day of the show, which is back at the NEC on October 7 & 8.
The sessions will examine how energy management and a durable charging policy can underpin a successful electric vehicle strategy for working fleets.
Stuart Murphy, Royal Mail's head of fleet transformation and integration at Royal Mail, Neil Madgwick, head of connections service delivery at UK Power Networks and Matt Pretorius, head of fleet solutions at Octopus Electroverse will look at building a robust charging hierarchy across home/office/shared/public, as well as tactics to minimise charging downtime, impact on operational models and identifying the right models for the right job.
Madgwick will dig down specifically into how DNOs can help smooth the path for workplace charging, reducing the cost of connection, as well as the potential to earn revenue through flexible energy services.

On day two a new team of electric charging specialists will share their unique perspectives, with Judy O’Keefe, fleet director at Openreach, providing her view on policy design and operational resilience, while Naomi Nye, head of sales at Drax Electric Vehicles, will contribute expertise on charging and energy solutions.
Madgwick will also be on hand for day two to help with guidance on workplace charging, grid connections and flexible energy solutions.
Stephen Briers, Fleet News group editor, said: "The show is all about helping fleets connect, learn and share ideas and charging infrastructure strategy is an area that is evolving so quickly with new technologies and ideas.
"We're just under a month away from welcoming the fleet industry back to the NEC and the event presents a truly unique opportunity to gain the expertise on areas like EV charging, but also across all areas of electrification with our wider seminar content.
"We have a packed schedule across the show, so I would urge you to register for your free ticket, explore the agenda and take advantage of everything the event has to offer."

This year's event will be running three specialised learning theatres:
- Fleet Management Theatre: Visitors will explore the everyday basics of running a fleet, with discussion topics that include safety, compliance and electrification.
- Strategy and Leadership Theatre: Attendees will take a look into areas of the sector with the greatest impact on how fleets operate. Attention will be given to challenges, transferrable skills, and establishing durable policy strategies.
- HR, Finance and Procurement Theatre: Examining fleet responsibilities and how they can be incorporated into the various departments across an organisation. This theatre is aimed at HR, finance and procurement professionals and will touch on areas like TCO, salary sacrifice, and the relationship between procurement and fleet.
The event will be running other in-person features, such as the Vans At Work zone where visitors can engage with suppliers and a vehicle showcase, the micromobility zone with displays and examples of this emerging field, the E-Street and EV Café with the latest in electrification, the AFP Hub for networking and sharing solutions, and more.
